FBS GRADUATION CONDUCTED...

Last February 3- Saturday, the long-been waited graduation of the Farm Business School (FBS) has finally been conducted at the Conference Hall of Villalon Central School. The said activity was tentatively scheduled last December but due to bad weather it was postponed. The Farm Business School was conducted jointly by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) under the leadership of MARO Ligaya Batingal and the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMA) of LGU Calubian. Mrs Dayday Caneda of DAR and Supervising Agriculturist Antonio Nierras had painstakingly conducted the said season long activity giving details to some technicalities on modern agri-farming and the inclusion of marketing aspects.

The activity was attended by the DAR municipal executives and OMA leaders. Testimonies were shared by the graduates in relation to the new things learned during the training. The following are some photo-documentations of the said training...

MONTHLY CONSULTATIVE MEETING HELD...

Consultative meeting is a very important venue for the local government functionaries and visitors to convey important messages and achievements to the barangay captains especially if there are projects wherein the different barangays are the direct beneficiaries. NEW SB MEMBER INDUCTED...

Last February 8, 2018, Brgy Captain Hon. Fernando Halichic was inducted as the new Sangguniang Bayan member of the Municipality of Calubian as a replacement of the late Hon Renato Aviner who died few months ago. Hon Halichic was inducted by no less than the Governor of the Province of Leyte Hon Dominic Petilla at his Provincial Capitol Office.

The activity was witnessed by the Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Calubian Hon. Doroteo N. Palconit. During the consultative meeting attended by the different barangay captains, Hon Halichic has shared his sentiments of his fate of becoming an SB member. (Photos courtesy of Armar Torlao)

NEW NEGOSYO CENTER BUSINESS COUNSELOR INSTALLED

After the transfer of the previous counselor Ms Vanessa Castillo to the Department of Education, at last the Department of Trade and Industry has chosen a new counselor in the person of Ms Shiela May Cabradilla Arante, a former staff of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist. Her appointment started last February 1, 2018 and was formally installed last February 2, 2018 with Mr Gayas representing the Provincial Director of DTI. Negosyo Center is a very important DTI extension office scattered in every municipality to cater the needs of new and existing businessmen in the local setting. To Shiela May, congratulations!
